In the Army! And Then Some...

I’m back. It has been a long time, but I finally have the opportunity to blog. It’s been almost four months since my last post; so let me provide some details on what I’ve been up to.

Well, the biggest news is that I got married. And that was only four days ago. My wife – Jennifer – is such a dork. She made it difficult for me to keep a straight face during the ceremony. I’m usually serious with stuff like this, but that didn’t hold up well, especially when the bride was making funnies with her face. But I love her and that’s what it all comes down to…right? ☺

I’m also currently training in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. I’m going through Advance Individual Training (AIT) to become a Military Policeman (MP) and I’ve been doing it for close to three months now. It has been a frustrating journey and I’m glad it’s almost over (graduation is on Jan 15).

My next stop after graduation leads me back to Fort Bragg, North Carolina. I was there from 2001-2005. This time I head back as an MP instead as an Infantryman. It’s gonna feel weird passing by my old unit knowing that my “humping” days (road-marching with a million-pound rucksack) are pretty much done and over with.

I would like to write about my experience at the Warrior Transition Course (WTC) as well, but that requires an entire post on to itself, which I am too lazy - and unmotivated- to write. I’ll just say that my time there was a joke. And I still have a bitter taste in my mouth from all the hoopla that went on. That program needs to be abolished, and the geniuses that engineered it shot. Ok, maybe not shot, but definitely slapped in the face.

Hooah!

I'm offended. I don't think I'm a dork.
